2012 Application Information:

The IGNITE! Mentorship Program is 100% free. Anyone between the ages of 12 and 24 is welcome to apply; however, participants are typically in their last years of high school, graduated, or in University. Participants are selected by a jury made up of the mentors, members of The Cultch’s Youth Panel and the Youth Program Manager. In some cases an audition and/or interview may be required.

Dance/Choreography 2012:

Application Deadline: February 15th, 2012.

Application Requirements:
-Completed Application Form (download below)
-500 word essay (see application form for more details).
-A list of past performances, training, and related experience.
-2 letters of reference from relevant sources who can speak to your experience and abilities as a dancer.
-Video footage of a piece of choreography performed by the applicant that represents their abilities.
-IGNITE! runs Saturdays 3-6pm from March 3rd-May 30th, 2012. Please ensure that you are able to commit to these sessions.

Directing 2012

Application Deadline: February 15th, 2012

Application Requirements:
-Completed Application Form (download below)
-500 word essay (see application form for more details).
-A list of past performances, training, and related experience.
-2 letters of reference from relevant sources who can speak to your experience and abilities.
-Successful applicants will be required to attend an interview in mid February

Songwriting 2012

Application Deadline: January 15th, 2012

Application Requirements:
-Completed Application Form (download below)
-Recording of two original songs (quality of recording is not important)
-Accompanying lyrics
-500 word essay (please see application form for more details)
-A list of past performances (optional)
-Please ensure that your name and email address appears on all of the material you submit including recorded material and lyrics.

Spoken Word 2012

Application Deadline: January 15th, 2012

Application Requirements:

-Poetic Writing Sample (max. 5 pages)
-500 word essay (see application form for more details)
-A list of past performances (optional)
-Successful applicants will be required to audition in early February

Play Writing 2012/2013

The 2011/2012 Play Writing Mentorship program is currently underway.

To participate in the 2012/2013 Playwriting Mentorship Program beginning in the spring, you must submit a one-act play to the 2012 Young Playwrights Competition. The three winners of that competition will become the participants in next year’s Play Writing Mentorship.
